Mufasa has only been known as Simba's noble father who meets a tragic and untimely end in The Lion King. But before he ascended to the throne, Mufasa had his own adventures and challenges as an orphan who would be king. Explore the younger days of the mighty king in this all-new story.
"Mufasa: The Lion King is a worthy installment in The Lion King franchise. The movie's hyperrealistic CGI brings the Pridelands to life in even more exquisite detail than The Lion King (2019), and audiences will be humming the catchy tunes of Lin-Manuel Miranda's soundtrack long after the movie is over. Further elevated by a diverse voice cast, Mufasa: The Lion King captures the emotional depth of the original classic and will appeal to audiences of all ages. While it's hard to ignore that the story didn't necessarily 'need' to be told, the top-notch quality will leave viewers glad Disney told it anyway."
"Mufasa is a prequel to The Lion King, showing Mufasa and Scar’s upbringing and how they became the lions they were in the first film. The movie is loaded with great music and I still have songs like “We Go Together” and “I Always Wanted a Brother” stuck in my head. Plus, Mufasa truly is a great family film, with the fun music and gorgeous CGI being entertaining for kids, and the complex and emotional plotline being gripping for older viewers. If you loved The Lion King or Disney’s other more emotional and adventurous films like The Jungle Book, you’ll enjoy Mufasa."
