Synopsis

Young Peter is searching in vain for his long-lost sister Adele

When a boy meets a mysterious fortune teller he asks about his lost sister, desperate to know if she is still alive. He is told that to find his answers he must first find the magician with the elephant. Facing three testing trials, Peter sets off on the greatest adventure of his life, to find his sister and reunite his family.

Wendy Rogers makes her directorial debut

The Magician’s Elephant is an upcoming animated movie based on the novel of the same name written by Kate DiCamillo. The Magician’s Elephant is directed by Wendy Rogers, best known for her visual effects work on Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Batman & Robin. This movie marks her directorial debut and is written by Martin Hynes, the co-screenwriter of Toy Story 4. The pair are joined by composer Mark Mothersbaugh who handles the music and Lucasfilm alumnus Gary H. Lee as cinematographer.

British television and film actor Noah Jupe leads the cast as Peter. His on-screen sister Adele is played by Pixie Davis. The two teen stars have a host of television and movie appearances between them and are joined by Benedict Wong who is voicing the Magician. The movie also includes the voice acting talent of Brian Tyree Henry, Miranda Richardson, Dawn French, Sian Clifford and Aasif Mandvi. The Magician's Elephant was released on Netflix on March 17th, 2023.
