Synopsis

Deep in the ocean, a princess dreams of life on the surface

Ariel is the daughter of King Triton, a proud ruler of the underwater Atlantica kingdom. Wary and prejudiced against the humans above the surface, King Triton doesn’t understand his daughters deep fascination with the human world. The young princess is cunning and rebellious. She is not content to stay in Atlantica and wants to experience the human world. Her curiosity however plays into the hands of the sly and seditious sea-witch Ursula, who plots to take over Atlantica herself. When Ariel saves the life of Prince Eric, a human man drowning in the sea, the two fall in love and the stage is set. Ursula offers Ariel a trade: she will make the princess human in exchange for her beautiful singing voice.
