Synopsis
Two families sharing a vacation home are met with strange news
Blackouts have been occurring all over the country and could potentially upset the holiday of two families. As they deal with the unsteady situation, problems begin to escalate. What started as a local issue has become an apocalyptic blackout leaving millions across the world in darkness with no electricity. The world is falling apart and the two families have only each other to rely on in increasingly unstable and terrifying conditions. Survival will require a true team effort but as their old lives slip away, everyone is left feeling scared and alone.

Leave the World Behind is a psychological thriller movie produced by Higher Ground Productions and distributed by Netflix. Higher Ground is a production company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama. The movie is directed and written by Sam Esmail, creator, and director of Mr. Robot. The movie is based on the book of the same name by Rumaan Alam.
The cast of the movie includes multi-award-winning actress Julia Roberts starring as Amanda. Playing opposite her as George G.H. Washington is two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. The pair are joined by legendary actor and film director Ethan Hawke who plays Clay. The wider cast includes Myha’la Herrold, Farrah Mckenzie, Charlie Evans, and Kevin Bacon.
