Michelle Yeoh teams up with 'the Daniels' for a reality-altering action flick
Everything Everywhere All at Once is a science fiction action movie written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert – the directorial duo also known as ‘the Daniels’. The movie, which is sometimes acronymized as EEAAO, centers on a struggling laundromat owner Evelyn Wang. She discovers that she exists within a multiverse that is facing a powerful threat.
Evelyn Wang is played by legendary Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, who performed the majority of her own stunts throughout the movie. . In the US, Yeoh is best known for her iconic roles in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Tomorrow Never Dies, Memoirs of a Geisha and Crazy Rich Asians. She is joined by Ke Huy Quan and Stephanie Hsu, who play Evelyn’s husband Waymond and their daughter Joy, respectively. Best known for his role as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in 1984, Ke Huy Quan returned to acting for Everything Everywhere All at Once after a 20-year hiatus.
Everything Everywhere All at Once has a plethora of movie references throughout the movie, including nods to everything from Pixar’s Ratatouille to Wong Kar-Wai’s In the Mood for Love. It was released in cinemas in the US on 25 March, 2022.
