Ridley Scott produces standalone Alien film directed by Don’t Breathe director Fede Álvarez
Alien: Romulus is a sci-fi horror film produced by 20th Century Studios and Scott Free for Disney. The film is a standalone addition to the Alien franchise, which was first popularised by director Ridley Scott in 1979. Scott returns to the franchise as a producer on Romulus. The film is directed by Uruguayan director Fede Álvarez, who previously co-wrote and directed Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe alongside Rodo Sayagues. Sayagues joins Álvarez once again to co-write the script for Romulus.
Alien: Romulus stars Cailee Spaeny as a new human fighting off the Xenomorphs. Spaeny previously starred as Priscilla in Sofia Coppola’s 2023 film about Priscilla Presley, in addition to the HBO series Mare of Easttown. Spaeny is joined by Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.
