When a young Furiosa is taken away from the Green Place of Many Mothers, she finds herself in the middle of a deadly conflict between Immortan Joe and the Biker Horde led by Dementus. As they vye for power, Furiosa must fight her way through if she wants to make it home alive.
Furiosa is a post-apocalyptic action film produced by Village Roadshow Pictures and Kennedy Miller Mitchell for Warner Bros. The film follows the story of a young Imperator Furiosa, from when she was taken away from the Green Place by Immortan Joe to her making her way through a desert world full of scant resources and warring men.
The film is a spinoff prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road, and takes place in the Mad Max universe created by George Miller and Byron Kennedy that first began in 1979. George Miller once more sits in the director’s seat for Furiosa, and co-writes the script alongside Nico Lathouris.
Anya Taylor-Joy stars as the young Imperator Furiosa, who was first played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road. Chris Hemsworth plays the notorious Immortan Joe, while his competition, Biker Horde leader Dementus, is played by Tom Burke. Nathan Jones reprises his role as Rictus Erectus, as does Angus Sampson as the Organic Mechanic.
Furiosa was released in cinemas in the UK on May 24, 2024.
