Ben Mears is a writer with a past that continues to haunt him. 25 years earlier, he witnessed something deeply disturbing in a rundown house of his idyllic hometown of Salem’s Lot. With an established career and desire to write and face his past, he returns to Salem’s Lot. Ben notices how much things have changed – things are stranger and worse. Something sinister is afoot and Ben has to get to the bottom of this ghost story.
Salem's Lot is a horror film produced by Warner Bros. The movie is directed by Gary Dauberman, who previously worked on horror movies like Annabelle and It. Dauberman also serves as the film’s screenwriter. Joining the team as producer is James Wan, who is known for directing popular horror films such as The Conjuring and Insidious.
The film is an adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name. The horror novel was first published in 1975 and has been adapted into two different television series. The first was released in 1979 and the second Salem's Lot was released in 2004.
Lewis Pullman plays writer Ben Mears. Pullman is known for his performances in Lessons in Chemistry, Top Gun: Maverick, and Bad Times at the El Royale. Makenzie Leigh stars as Susan Norton. Alfre Woodard stars as Dr. Cody. Bill Camp plays Matthew Burke. Pilou Asbaek stars as Richard Straker. Other cast members include Josh Benjamin Hickey, Jordan Preston Carter, Spencer Treat Clark, Nicholas Crovetti, Cade Woodward, and William Sadler.
Music for the movie is being composed by Lisbeth Scott and Nathan Barr. Scott and Barr have previously worked together on projects such as The Ledge, The Americans, Carnival Row, and The Great.
