Synopsis
In the frozen heights of Canada's tallest peak, a team of scientists launches a daring expedition to unearth thousands of years of climate data in one record-breaking ice core. Ice core scientist and National Geographic Explorer Alison Criscitiello is the leader of this ambitious quest. After 10 days of treacherous climbing and multiple emergency evacuations, Criscitiello and her remaining teammates reach Mount Logan's summit plateau where they camp and work for 16 days to finally bring home the deepest non-polar ice core ever collected. Throughout this perilous journey we discover what Criscitiello carries with her to the mountains, including the hope that her 3-year-old daughter Winter will learn through her example and believe that she too can do anything - even the seemingly impossible. The global climate crisis looms over Winter's generation and Criscitiello knows that they'll need to work harder and solve problems faster to preserve the planet she loves.
