The government recruits a group of supervillains called the Thunderbolts to undertake missions.
Within the MCU, the members include Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Winter Soldier/James "Bucky" Barnes, Black Widow/Yelena Belova, Ghost/Ava Starr, Red Guardian/Alexei Shostakov, Taskmaster/Antonia Dreykov, U.S. Agent John Walker.
Jack Schreier is best known for directing a number of music videos from such artists as Benny Blanco and Justin Bieber as well as helming 2015’s Paper Towns. He’s also directed on the Disney+ series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Lee Sung Jin took over the role of screenwriter for Thunderbolts*, replacing Eric Pearson.
Florence Pugh reprises her role as Yelena Belova in Thunderbolts*. The character was previously seen in Black Widow and Disney+'s Hawkeye, while Sebastian Stan returns following his appearances in the Captain America trilogy, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Joining them are David Harbour and Olga Kurylenko from Black Widow, along with Hannah John-Kamen reprising her role as Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp. Additionally, Wyatt Russell returns as the formidable John Walker, who was introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier under the guidance of the enigmatic Val, portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Hollywood icon Harrison Ford, known for his iconic roles in Star Wars and Indiana Jones, joins as Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.
