Allison Williams and Violet McGraw reprise their roles in horror sequel from returning writer
M3GAN 2.0 is an upcoming horror film from Universal Pictures. It serves as the direct sequel to 2022's M3GAN which was directed by Gerard Johnstone. The initial film followed M3GAN, an artificially intelligent doll that gains self-awareness, turning hostile towards anyone who poses a threat to her relationship with her human companion named Cady. It was a smash hit at the box office, earning $181 million at the worldwide box office on a reported budget of only $12 million.
Revered filmmaker James Wan produces the M3GAN sequel after helming such successful titles like Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring. Along with Wan, returning producers include James Blum and star Allison Williams. Akela Cooper also returns to pen the screenplay for M3GAN 2.0. She has worked on other horror titles like Hell Fest, Malignant and The Nun II.
Allison Williams reprises her role of Cady's guardian, Gemma, in M3GAN 2.0. She's best known for starring in the HBO dramedy Girls. Violet McGraw also returns as Cady. She has appeared in Doctor Sleep and The Haunting of Hill House. The supporting cast includes Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari and Jemaine Clement.
