Anthony Mackie is Captain America in MCU entry from The Cloverfield Paradox director
Captain America: Brave New World is a superhero film directed by Julius Onah for Marvel Studios and Disney. The film serves as the fourth installment in the Captain America film series, building upon the events of the Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and adding to the extensive lineup of films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It is the 35th entry into the universe.
Onah previously wrote and directed 2019's Luce which starred Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, as well as 2018's The Cloverfield Paradox. Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson wrote the screenplay for Captain America: Brave New World after working on the Disney+ miniseries in 2021. Kevin Feige and Nate Moore produced the film. Thor: The Dark World's Kramer Morgenthau handled the film's cinematography.
Anthony Mackie portrays the lead role of Sam Wilson/Captain America in the film. Danny Ramirez plays Joaquin Torres, a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force who has previously worked with Sam; he takes on the mantle of Falcon in the film. Carl Lumbly portrays Isaiah Bradley, a Black Korean War veteran and super soldier who was unjustly imprisoned and subjected to experimentation for three decades. Tim Blake Nelson portrays Samuel Sterns, also known as the Leader, a cellular biologist who gains superhuman intelligence after accidental exposure to Bruce Banner's blood.
Hollywood icon Harrison Ford appears as Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, the President of the United States and former U.S. Army general and Secretary of State. Liv Tyler reprises her role as Thunderbolt's daughter Betty Ross, a character who last appeared in the MCU in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, Xosha Roquemore and Seth Rollins round out the cast.
