Henk Rogers is a video games publisher who has found the perfect game – Tetris. The only problem is, that it is designed and created by Alexey Pajitnov, a Russian computer engineer. In the midst of the Cold War, the pair seek to bring the game to an international audience and risk diplomatic and commercial disaster in the process. The legal battle winds up involving Hiroshi Yamauchi, president of Nintendo, British media mogul, Robert Maxwell, countless KGB agents, and even Mikhail Gorbachev himself. This high-stakes thriller is the story of one man’s mission to bring the most addictive video game to millions of households around the world.

Tetris is a biographical drama movie produced by Apple Original Films, Marv Studios, and AI Film. The movie is directed by John S. Baird, a Scottish filmmaker known for the movies Stan & Ollie and Filth. He is joined by screenwriter Noah Pink and German cinematographer Alwin H. Kuchler. British composer Lorne Balfe handles the score. English filmmaker and producer Matthew Vaughn is on board as a producer alongside Gillian Bernie, Claudia Vaughn, and Leonard Blavatnik.
Taron Egerton leads the movie playing Henk Rogers, the game publisher. Egerton first rose to prominence in the movie Kingsman: The Secret Service before his standout role as the singer Elton John in the movie Rocketman. He is joined by acclaimed English actor Toby Jones who plays Robert Stein. Nikita Yefremov stars as Alexey Pajitnov, the original designer and creator of Tetris. Roger Allam and Anthony Boyle play Robert and Kevin Maxwell respectively. Japanese actor Togo Igawa plays the president of Nintendo, Hiroshi Yamauchi with former president Minoru Arakawa played by Ken Yamamura. Tetris was released on Apple TV+ on 31st March, 2023.
