Synopsis
A young woman is stretched between traditionalism and progressivism as New York City undergoes a post-disaster reimagining
After a global disaster strikes New York City, Julia Cicero finds herself torn between her hardline, traditionalist father, Frank, and her progressive architect partner, Caesar, as he attempts to realise his vision for rebuilding the city.

What is Megalopolis about?
Megalopolis is a sci-fi drama produced by American Zoetrope and tells the story of a post-disaster New York City and two competing minds intent on rebuilding the city according to their personal visions. Megalopolis is written, directed, and produced by legendary American film director Francis Ford Coppola, who is known for his previous films The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, The Rainmaker, and countless other classics. Ford Coppola started conceptualising the film as early as the 1980s, and was thought to have abandoned the project after the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City. However, after the aftermath of the attack went on to inspire him to recraft story. Romanian cinematographer Mihai Mălaimare Jr lends his talents to the picture behind the camera, after previously collaborating with Ford Coppola on Youth Without Youth, Tetro, Twixt, and Distant Vision.
Who stars in Megalopolis?
Megalopolis stars Nathalie Emmanuel (known for her role as Missandei on Game of Thrones) as Julia Cicero, the woman torn between allegiances to her father and her partner. Her partner, the progressive architect Caesar, is played by acclaimed American actor Adam Driver (Marriage Story, Paterson). The rest of the star-studded cast includes Forest Whitaker, Jon Voight, Audrey Plaza, Laurence Fishburne, and Giancarlo Esposito.
