What is Wicked: Part One about?
Wicked: Part One is the upcoming first part of the musical fantasy film produced by Marc Platt Productions for Universal Pictures. The film is based on the critically acclaimed musical Wicked and the book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, and follows the first part of the story of how the Wicked Witch of the West and her sister Glinda (the Good Witch) came to be enemies before the beginning of The Wizard of Oz. Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M Chu directs Wicked: Part One from a screenplay written by Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz. Celebrated designer Nathan Crowley is the head production designer for the film.
Who stars in Wicked: Part One?
Grammy Award-winner and pop icon Ariana Grande stars in Wicked: Part One as Glinda, the Good Witch. Renowned Grammy and Tony award-winner Cynthia Erivo stars opposite Grande as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. The rest of the star-studded cast includes Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jeff Goldblum as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero Tigelaar, and Ethan Slater as Boq.
