Brie Larson returns to her role as Captain Marvel in Disney sequel
The Marvels is an American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and Disney. It is the tenth film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and the thirty-third film in the MCU overall. The film focuses on Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan. Captain Marvel got her big-screen debut in 2019’s Captain Marvel, along with Rambeau, whose abilities were put on full display in the Marvel TV series WandaVision. Meanwhile, Kamala Khan was introduced to the MCU in her own Disney+ TV series, Ms. Marvel. The Marvels acts as a sequel to both 2019’s Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel, with the finale of Ms. Marvel hinting at the meeting of all three superheroes.
Nia DaCosta directs The Marvels, while Brie Larson reprises her role as the superhero Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel). Iman Vellani joins the film’s cast as Kamala Khan (aka Ms. Marvel), and Teyonah Parris plays Monica Rambeau once again. Samuel L Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury, and South Korean actor Park Seo-joon also features. Zawe Ashton plays the film's villain, Kree warrior Dar-Benn.
