Blue Beetle is an American superhero film produced by DC Films and Entertainment One. The film is the fourteenth film production in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and is based on the DC Comics character Jaime Reyes (aka Blue Beetle) created by Charles Nicholas Wojtkoski. Angel Manuel Soto directs Blue Beetle, and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer pens the script. Blue Beetle marks the first DC production with a stand-alone Latino protagonist.
Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai) stars as Jaime Reyes (aka Blue Beetle) in his first foray into superherodom. He is joined by Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio Reyes, Damián Alcázar as Alberto Reyes, Belissa Escobedo as Milagro Reyes, and George Lopez as Uncle Rudy Reyes. Susan Sarandon stars as the film’s main villain, Victoria Kord, and Raoul Max Trujillo plays the film’s second villain, Conrad Carapax (aka Carapax the Indestructible Man).
