Migration is an animated comedy-adventure film directed by Benjamin Renner and co-directed by Guylo Homsy for Universal Pictures. Renner and his directing partners received an Academy Award nomination in 2014 for Best Animated Feature for their animated dramedy, Ernest & Celestine. Migration is written by Mike White, an acclaimed writer best known for creating the HBO hit series, The White Lotus. He also previously wrote the screenplays for School of Rock and The Year of the Dog.
Founder and CEO of Illumination Chris Meledandri produces Migration. He's produced such successful titles as the Despicable Me franchise, The Secret Life of Pets, Sing and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Celebrated composer John Powell serves as the film's music composer after working on such films as Shrek, Happy Feet, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and earning an Academy Award nomination for How to Train Your Dragon.
Kumail Nanjiani voices the family's anxiety-ridden father, Mack Mallard. He is best known for starring in and co-writing the Oscar-nominated film The Big Sick and portraying Kingo in Eternals. Elizabeth Banks voices Pam Mallard, the family's bold mother. Caspar Jennings and Tresi Gazal play the Mallard kids. Awkwafina voices a New York City pigeon gang leader named Chump while Keegan-Michael Key is Delroy, a parrot locked in a Manhattan restaurant yearning to be back home in Jamaica. David Mitchell, Carol Kane and Danny DeVito round out the supporting cast.
