Steve Carell returns in fourth entry of the massively successful Despicable Me franchise
Despicable Me 4 is an animated comedy film directed by Chris Renaud, Patrick Delage and Tom McGrath for Universal Pictures. It serves as the fourth entry in the Despicable Me series which began in 2010. Despicable Me 4 marks the sixth overall film in the billion-dollar franchise following the first installment alongside Despicable Me 2, Minions, Despicable Me 3 and Minions: The Rise of Gru. The series follows veteran-supervillain-turned-secret-agent Gru as he embarks on various villainy adventures with his trusted minions by his side along with his three adopted daughters.
Chris Renaud previously co-directed the first film with Pierre Coffin. He has worked on every entry in the Despicable Me franchise and has voiced numerous Minions throughout the years. He has also directed Dr. Seuss' The Lorax and The Secret Life of Pets 2.
Patrick Delage is an award-winning animation director who's previously worked on the first two Despicable Me entries as well as Ratatouille, WALL-E and The Secret Life of Pets 2. Tom McGrath is best known for co-directing the Madagascar trilogy. Producers on Despicable Me 4 include CEO of Illumination Entertainment Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy and Guillermo del Toro.
Steve Carell reprises his celebrated role as Gru along with Kristen Wiig as Lucy. Will Ferrell voices Maxime Le Mal and Sofia Vergara is Valentina. The rest of the cast include Joey King as Poppy, Miranda Cosgrove as Margo, Dana Gaier as Edith, Madison Polan as Agnes and Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom. Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman and Chris Renaud also lend their voices the film. Previous Despicable Me co-director Pierre Coffin also returns as the voices of revered Minions Kevin/Stuart/Mel/Bob and Otto.
