Synopsis
Alex and his cousins attempt to save a mythical Chupacabra found in his grandfather's shed
A young boy named Alex visits his grandfather in Mexico and finds a Chupacabra hiding in the shed. When he discovers this mythical being, he sets out to save the creature with his cousins. They ultimately embark on an adventure that exposes them to their cultural folklore and shapes their lives.

Son of Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón directs fantasy picture for Netflix
Chupa is an action-adventure fantasy film directed by Jonás Cuarón for Netflix. Cuarón is the son of revered director Alfonso Cuarón and Chupa marks his third directorial endeavour. He has been involved in filmmaking since 2007, earning a writing credit alongside his father for 2013’s acclaimed space-thriller Gravity. Chupa is produced by Chris Columbus, Michael Barnathan, and Mark Radcliffe under their 26th Street Pictures production company. Sean Kennedy Moore & Joe Barnathan & Marcus Rinehart wrote the screenplay. They also share Story By credits with Brendan Bellomo.
Evan Whitten plays the lead role of Alex in the film, supported by Ashley Ciarra and Nickolas Verdugo who portray his cousins. His grandfather is played by Academy Award nominee Demian Bichir while Julio Cesar Cedillo, Adriana Paz, and Gerardo Taracena complete the cast.
