Abigail is a monster horror film produced for Universal Pictures. The film is written by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick, and directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Busick previously collaborated with both Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett on 2022’s Scream, Scream VI, and Ready or Not. Abigail is a reimagining of the 1936 Universal Monster Classic, Dracula’s Daughter.
Abigail stars Alisha Weir as the titular 12-year-old vampire who goes from captive to predator. Weir previously starred in the 2022 film adaptation of Matilda the Musical and Wicked Little Letters. Star Wars actor Giancarlo Esposito plays Lambert, the mastermind of the abduction plan. The would-be abductors are played by Scream franchise alumna Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Kevin Durand, William Catlett, Matthew Goode, and Euphoria actor Angus Cloud in his final acting role before his death in 2023.
