The Russo Brothers direct Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt in Netflix sci-fi adventure
The Electric State is an upcoming sci-fi adventure film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo for Netflix. It is based on Simon Stålenhag's graphic novel which released in 2018. Screenwriting partners Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay for The Electric State. The duo have worked on several Russo Brothers projects including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The Russos are best known for their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), having directed the aforementioned four titles. They have also collaborated with Netflix on films like Extraction and its sequel plus The Gray Man.
The Russo Brothers produce The Electric State along with Russell Ackerman, Chris Castaldi, Mike Larocca, The Flash director Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Patrick Newall. The Gray Man cinematographer Stephen F. Windon reunites with the directors for The Electric State. He's previously executed cinematography duties on seven Fast and Furious titles including Tokyo Drift, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, F9 and Fast X.
Millie Bobby Brown plays the lead role in The Electric State as Michelle. She is best known for her portrayal of Eleven in Netflix's Stranger Things. She is joined by Chris Pratt who has previously played Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the MCU. The talented ensemble cast includes Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman and Martin Klebba. The film also features an impressive voice cast which includes Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Anthony Mackie, Billy Bob Thornton and Giancarlo Esposito as Marshall.
