Synopsis
Astronaut Jakub Prochazka ventures to Venus and engages in a philosophical conversation with an extraterrestrial creature
Jakub Prochazka grew up in rural Czech Republic under the care of his grandparents, pursuing a career in science and eventually making history by becoming the first Czech astronaut. During a mysterious mission to Venus, Jakub leaves his wife Lenka behind and ventures into the unknown. In his quest for ancient dust, he encounters a fascinating creature with whom he engages in a deep philosophical conversation about the significance of life, love and mortality while exploring the vast expanse of space.

Adam Sandler stars in Netflix space drama from Chernobyl director
Spaceman is a sci-fi drama directed by Johan Renck for Netflix. It is based on the 2017 novel by Jaroslav Kalfař entitled "Spaceman of Bohemia." Renck is best known for directing all five episodes of the critically acclaimed HBO miniseries, Chernobyl, winning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series in 2019. Colby Day wrote the screenplay for Spaceman. Channing Tatum is one of the producers on the film along with Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Michael Parets, Timothy Headington, Lia Buman and Max Silva. Celebrated composer Max Richter composes the music for Spaceman, having previously scored such titles as The Leftovers, Arrival and Ad Astra.
Adam Sandler leads the film as Jakub Procházka. Paul Dano stars as Hanuš, Carey Mulligan as Lenka, Kunal Nayyar as Petr with Isabella Rossellini as Jakub's grandmother.
