Synopsis

Amanda Waller must find a new purpose after Task Force X is exposed

At A.R.G.U.S. (Advanced Research Group United Support), there’s only one boss and that’s Amanda Waller. She knows how to leverage the most psychotic supervillains for her own ends. But after all her secret work with Task Force X is brought to light, Waller must both face the consequences and find a new mission.

What to know

Waller Season 1 is an upcoming superhero miniseries produced by DC Studios that is featured in the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters slate. The show is executive produced by James Gunn, Peter Safran, Christal Henry, and lead actress Viola Davis. Christal Henry and Jeremy Carver are developing the series. Between them, the pair have worked on Watchmen and Doom Patrol. Waller Season 1 is a spin-off from the show Peacemaker.

Waller stars Viola Davis in the lead role having played the part in multiple DC movies such as The Suicide Squad and Black Adam. Davis is a multi-award-winning actress known for her performances in The Woman King and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Steve Agee joins Davis in the cast playing her aide John Economos. Agee reprises his role from Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad.

- James Gunn and Peter Safran announce the show among a slew of other new series. They confirm that it will play a part in Chapter One: God’s and Monsters, their first slate of shows and movies. The only other information about the show is that it will serve as a spin-off to Peacemaker and arrive before Peacemaker Season 2. (Source: Deadline)
