Synopsis
Searching for his wife, Apollo is taunted by the relentless mystery of her disappearance
Billed as a ‘fairytale for grownups’ The Changeling tells the story of Apollo and Emma, a couple who get mixed up in a powerful supernatural strangeness. In the process, the young parents are split apart and Apollo is left searching for his partner and child in a terrifying alternate version of New York City.

The Changeling is a horror-fantasy television series based on the novel of the same name by Victor LaValle. The show is created and written by Kelly Marcel, a British screenwriter known for writing the movies Venom, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage as well as Fifty Shades of Grey. She is joined by director Melina Matsoukas who made her directorial debut with the movie Queen & Slim before directing the television series Insecure. The show is produced by Annapurna Television for Apple TV+.
LaKeith Stanfield takes a leading role in the show, starring as Apollo Kagwa. Stanfield is known for his performances in horror movies such as Get Out and Haunted Mansion. He is joined by Adina Porter who stars as Apollo’s mother, Lillian Kagwa. Clark Backo plays Emma Valentine and Samuel T. Herring stars as William Wheeler. There are recurring roles in the series for Amirah Vann, Malcolm Barrett, and Jared Abrahamson. The Changeling was released on September 8th, 2023 on Apple TV+.
