Synopsis
The frightening and exhilarating missions of America's most important WWII pilots
The men of the 100th Bomb Group are known as the Bloody Hundredth. It is their job to win the battle in the air, flying at altitudes of 25,000 feet and surviving the horrors of war. The men suffer trauma but are bonded by their camaraderie and their belief in something beyond themselves. Each of the men made their own specific contribution to the dismantling of Hitler’s Third Reich and each of their stories ends in different ways. This is a story of bravery and honor in the face of unimaginable terror.

Masters of the Air Season 1 is an upcoming war drama miniseries. It is based on the book 'Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought The Air War Against Nazi Germany' by Donald L. Miller. The miniseries is created by John Shiban, known for his work on The X-Files and Breaking Bad. It is co-created by John Orloff who was a writer on the award-winning show Band of Brothers. Masters of the Air Season 1 features directors Cary Joji Fukunaga, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Dee Rees, and Tim Van Patten. The show is considered a companion work to Band of Brothers and The Pacific. The series is produced by Playtone, Amblin Television, and Apple Studios. Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg all serve as executive producers.
Masters of the Air Season 1 stars Austin Butler in the role of Major Gale Cleven. Callum Turner plays Major John Egan. Barry Keoghan plays Lt. Curtis Biddick. Anthony Boyle stars as Major Harry Crosby. Ncuti Gatwa plays the role of 2nd Lt. Robert Daniels. The cast also includes Nate Mann, Raff Law, James Murray, Tommy Jessop, Freddy Carter, Oaklee Pendergast, Fionn O’Shea, Adam Long, Louis Greatorex, Nikolai Kinski, Kai Alexander, and more. Masters of the Air Season 1 was released on Apple TV+ on January 26, 2024.
