Maya Lopez must return to her hometown. After the dramatic turn of her time in New York City, the fighter who would come to be known as Echo leaves the city to face her community. At home, she learns how to connect with her Native American culture and how she can draw strength from it.
"Initially one of the antagonists in Hawkeye, Maya Lopez (aka Echo) returns for her own spin-off sequel series. This time, the show takes viewers from the gritty streets of New York to Oklahoma as Maya is chased down by Kingpin. Echo will be especially loved by viewers who liked its predecessor Hawkeye, but it also has some similar vibes to shows like Twisted Metal and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. If you want a great superhero show that’s heavier on action than it is on superpowers, you’ll love Echo."
"Echo is a gritty superhero series that will delight fans of Marvel's Defenders series, especially Daredevil and Jessica Jones. It is refreshing to see a Disney+ Marvel show step out of its comfort zone with intense fight scenes and a dark and thrilling tone. Alaqua Cox establishes herself beautifully as a leading lady, establishing a powerful and unique hero in the MCU, while Vincent D'Onofrio is as terrifying as ever as Kingpin. With powerful performances, superhero grit, and a hero with a story quite unlike any other Marvel hero, Echo sets a new precedent for Marvel TV shows."
