The Super Mario Bros. Movie continues its success both at the box office and at home as it has climbed its way to the top of this week’s streaming chart, defeating last week’s champ in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Movie. Last week’s victor, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, saw a rise in popularity following the theatrical release of its highly anticipated sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Super Mario also managed to hold off against John Wick: Chapter 4, whose director recently gave his thoughts on the future of the franchise, along with besting another adventure flick in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie features a star-studded voice cast of Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key and is based on the legendary Nintendo video game property. The film has gone on to gross over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office and is currently the third highest-grossing animated film of all time behind 2019’s The Lion King and Frozen II.

The R-rated horror titles, Infinity Pool and Evil Dead Rise, climbed the charts and secured the fifth and sixth spots, respectively. Meanwhile, the Academy Award winning Everything Everywhere All at Once remains a strong contender in the Top 10, settling one spot lower than its previous week's ranking at #7. Netflix’s expansive movie roster welcomes the captivating addition of Nimona, which claims the eighth position. This animated film showcases the voice talents of Chloë Grace Moretz and Riz Ahmed. The first entry of the Indiana Jones series with Raiders of the Lost Ark earns the ninth spot as the fifth installment of the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, released in theaters, while Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant rounds out the top ten.
