Synopsis
Decisions across time reverberate to the present day as humanity faces a new adversary
In the 1960s during China’s Cultural Revolution, a secret group attempts contact with extraterrestrial life. That decision echoes in the present day as a group of scientists gather to try to understand an oncoming threat that looms large over the Earth. With some intent upon aggressive negotiations and others wanting to simply acquiesce; two coalitions form and Earth is divided at its most crucial juncture.

A mind-bending sci-fi mystery from the creators of Game of Thrones
3 Body Problem is a fantasy sci-fi mystery drama series. It is produced by Plan B Entertainment, Primitive Streak, T-Street, and Three-Body Universe for Netflix. The show is based on the novel of the same name written by Liu Cixin. 3 Body Problem is created by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo. Benioff and Weiss are known as the creators and showrunners of the Emmy Award-winning series, Game of Thrones. Among the executive producers of the show are Rian Johnson, Rosamund Pike, and Brad Pitt.
3 Body Problem stars Rosalind Chao in the role of Ye Wenjie. She is known for her performances in the television series Sweet Tooth as well as movies such as The Laundromat, Mulan, and Together Together. She is joined by Saamer Usmani in the role of Raj Varma; Jess Hong as Jin Cheng; Jovan Adepo as Saul Durand; Jonathan Pryce as Mike Evans; Marlo Kelly as Tatiana; Alex Sharp as Will Downing; Eiza Gonzalez as Auggie Salazar; Sea Shimooka as Sophon; Benedict Wong as Da Shi; Eve Ridley as Follower. Liam Cunningham and John Bradley, who starred in Game of Thrones both feature in 3 Body Problem. 3 Body Problem was released on March 21, 2024 on Netflix.
