Ariana Grande is best known as the ponytailed pop sensation with one of the most impressive vocal ranges of any modern star. But while she might have long dominated the world stage as a star musician, she actually got her start acting on Nickelodeon, and has since branched out into film — most recently starring in her biggest role yet as the good witch Glinda in Jon M Chu’s masterful adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Wicked.

Ariana Grande movies and TV shows
Ariana Grande got her start playing the sweet but somewhat dim Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon series Victorious from 2010 to 2013, and continued to play the role in the spinoff series Sam & Cat. From there she went on to star as a cheerleader helping a teenage heist in Swindle, before lending her voice to the character Laura in the English-language version of Underdogs.
Grande got a taste of musical fame in 2016 when she played Penny Pingleton on NBC’s live television performance of the classic Broadway musical Hairspray! Between Hairspray Live! and her next musical, Grande appeared in a small part in Don’t Look Up as pop star Riley Bina.
Finally, Grande played her biggest role to date as the witch Glinda in the live-action adaptation of Wicked, opposite Cynthia Erivo. The second part of the film will once more star Ariana Grande in the role and will be released in 2025.
