Synopsis

A Nazi officer and his family build their dream life next to the concentration camp Auschwitz in the middle of WWII

Infamous SS Officer Rudolf Höss and his wife Hedwig build their ideal house and garden for themselves and their three children while living just outside the walls of the Auschwitz death camp during World War II.

The Zone of Interest is an historical drama film produced by Film4 Productions and Access Entertainment for A24. The film is directed by Jonathan Glazer, whose previous works include Sexy Beast, Birth, and Under the Skin. The Zone of Interest is loosely based on Martin Amis’ 2014 novel of the same name.

The Zone of Interest stars German actor Christian Friedel as Rudolf Höss, an SS officer creating his dream home with his wife at the Auschwitz death camp during World War II. He is joined by German actress Sandra Hüller, who plays his wife Hedwig Höss. Their three children Klaus, Inge-Brigitt, and Heidetraut are portrayed by Johann Karthaus, Nele Ahrensmeier, and Lilli Falk, respectively.
