Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio join in Martin Scorsese’s true story adaptation for Paramount and Apple TV
Killers of the Flower Moon is an American Western crime drama produced by Paramount Pictures and Apple TV+. The film is directed by legendary Hollywood director Martin Scorsese, and adapted into a screenplay by Eric Roth from David Grann’s book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. Killers of the Flower Moon tells the true story of several murders that took place in the Native American Osage Nation in Oklahoma in the 1920s. Due to the vast amount of oil found on their tribal land, the community was targeted in what became known as the ‘Reign of Terror’. The FBI eventually took on the investigation as one of the first in their history, although the majority of cases still remain unsolved.
The award-winning ensemble cast includes Robert De Niro as William Hale, the rancher and mastermind behind the murders. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hale’s nephew, Ernest Burkhart. Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, and John Lithgow also star. The film marks the sixth time Scorsese and DiCaprio have collaborated, and the tenth time De Niro and Scorsese have worked together on a film.
