The Toxic Avenger is an upcoming superhero horror-comedy film produced by Legendary Pictures. The film is a remake of the original 1984 film of the same name, and is directed and written by Macon Blair. It is the fifth instalment overall in the Toxic Avenger franchise, with the last instalment having been released in 2000.
The Toxic Avenger stars Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as janitor Winston Gooze, whose encounter with a pit of toxic waste transforms him into the Toxic Avenger. He is joined by Jacob Tremblay as Wade, Winston’s stepson, Taylour Paige as investigative reporter JJ Doherty, Kevin Bacon as the film’s villain Bob Garbinger, and Elijah Wood as Fritz Garbinger, one of Bob’s henchmen. Other cast members include Julia Davis, David Yow, Johnny Coyne, Jane Levy, and Sarah Niles.
