After their daring escape from the Tweedys’ farm, Ginger, Rocky, and the rest finally find their paradise on a peaceful island. But when Ginger and Rocky's daughter Molly is taken from them to Fun Land Farms, the chickens must band together again to infiltrate the place and get Molly back.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget is an stop-motion animated comedy film produced by Aardman Animations, Pathé, and StudioCanal for Netflix. The film is a sequel to the 2000 comedy hit Chicken Run, which saw a group of chickens trapped in the Tweedys’ farm engineer an escape. The writers of the first film, Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell, return to write the screenplay while Sam Fell (Flushed Away) directs.
Cast members returning to their roles as the rambunctious chickens include Jane Horrocks as Babs, Imelda Staunton as Bunty, and Lynn Ferguson as Ginger’s assistant Mac. Miranda Richardson reprises her role as the voice of the evil Mrs Tweedy. Thandiwe Newton replaces Julia Sawalha as the voice of the mastermind hen Ginger, while Zachary Levi replaces Mel Gibson as the voice of Rocky Rhodes, Ginger’s husband. New to the clan is Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones), who voices Molly, Ginger and Rocky’s daughter. Comedian Romesh Ranganathan takes over from Timothy Spall to voice Nick the rat, while Daniel Mays replaces Phil Daniels as Fletcher, Nick’s partner, and David Bradley replaces Benjamin Whitrow as the ageing Fowler. New characters include a chicken named Frizzle played by Josie Sedgwick-Davies, businessman Reginald Smith played by Peter Serafinowicz, and Dr Fry played by Nick Mohammed.
