The Accountant² (2025)

With a title like that, the fact The Accountant actually got released was a huge surprise. To then return with a sequel almost ten years later is nothing short of a miracle. But The Accountant 2 smartly improves upon the original in two key ways. One, it embraces the ludicrous nature of this franchise, leaning into the absurdity with requisite charm. And two, Jon Bernthal continues to be one of the best actors working today, bringing his roguish charm to what ends up being a buddy action comedy opposite Ben Affleck. The team behind this can count their lucky stars this all turned out so well.

If you're heading out to see The Accountant 2 because you love the first one, you're probably going to be disappointed. However, if you're excited about the idea of a action-comedy hybrid where Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal riff off one another for two hours, you're in luck. This sequel is tonally very different to its predecessor, delivering far more fun moments than the very gritty first movie. The Accountant 2 has more in common with Bad Boys and The Fall Guy, and that's not a bad thing at all if you're just wanting some mindless, kick-ass action.
