After playing a series of smaller parts across film and television throughout the early 2000s, Glen Powell got his first big part in the television series Scream Queens playing the outrageously cocky frat boy Chad Radwell. He went on to take small roles in films like Misconduct starring opposite Al Pacino, and Everybody Wants Some!!, before landing the part of charismatic astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures.
Since then, Glen Powell has starred in a variety of films across genres. His roles in rom-coms include 2018’s Set It Up, and 2023’s Anyone But You. In Anyone But You, he stars opposite Sydney Sweeney as they play seeming opposites who pretend to be a couple for mutually beneficial reasons but end up falling for each other.
In 2022, Glen Powell starred in Top Gun: Maverick opposite Tom Cruise as Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin, a swaggering elite aviator whose competitive nature makes him both a chief antagonist and an ally. Continuing the naval pilot theme, Powell then starred opposite Jonathan Majors in Devotion, a film based on the true story of the camaraderie between two pilots during the Korean War.
In 2023, Glen Powell took on his first major leading role as Garry Johnson in Hit Man. The film follows the incredible true story of a seemingly unremarkable professor who moonlights as a fake hit man in order to entrap those hiring his services and turn them into law enforcement. And in his most recent film, he stars opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones as ‘tornado wrangler’ Tyler Owens in Twisters. The two play storm chasers who encounter a whole new level of storm in this high octane sequel to 1996’s Twister.
