The Boys live-action spin-off series introduces viewers to the next generation of Supes
Gen V is a black comedy superhero TV series developed by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg and Eric Kripke for Prime Video. It is a spin-off of Prime Video’s The Boys franchise which is based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The original series is one of Prime Video’s most successful titles, having received multiple Emmy Award nominations including Outstanding Drama Series in 2021. It has also had multiple spin-offs besides Gen V including a web series titled Seven on 7 and an animated anthology series, Diabolical.
The showrunners and executive producers for Gen V, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, are new to the franchise while The Boys producer Craig Rosenberg is the writer and producer for the R-rated spin-off. Gen V maintains continuity with The Boys by retaining executive producers Eric Kripke and Seth Rogen, among others, and adhering to the same style. Gen V will also not shy away from the adult and indecent subject matter like its predecessor.
Jaz Sinclair stars as Marie Moreau, a character with the ability to manipulate blood and a tragic backstory. Chance Perdomo plays Andre Anderson, a popular character who can bend metal. Lizzze Broadway portrays Emma Shaw, a YouTuber who can shrink to a tiny size of 0.5 inches. Maddie Phillips plays Cate Dunlap, a character with the power of mind empathy. Derek Luh and London Thor play Jordan, a character with the ability to change genders, while Asa Germann and Shelley Conn round out the main cast.
In addition to the main cast, the series features a supporting cast that includes Patrick Schwarzenegger as Golden Boy, a popular student who can manipulate fire, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity and Marco Pigossi as Doctor Edison Cardosa. Clancy Brown takes on the role of Richard "Rich Brink" Brinkerhoff while Jason Ritter and Alexander Calvert star as well. A few familiar faces from The Boys also appears in Gen V including Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy.
