Superheroes, even those with extraordinary abilities, need guidance and education to become effective crimefighters. The Godolkin University School of Crimefighting is an exclusive institution that focuses on training young superhumans how to combat crime. The Godolkin approach involves organizing a competition among teenage superheroes for crimefighting contracts in different cities across the United States. Although this competition fosters success, it can also cause injuries and conflicts among the participants. Meanwhile, the two influential leaders, Marie M. and Emma Shaw, are investigating any potential conspiracies behind the scenes. Despite being a revered school for superheroes, Godolkin offers a typical college experience with its own set of problems including sexual tension, drama, gossip and diabolical activities.

Gen V season 1 is the first season for Prime Video's black comedy superhero TV series from Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg and Eric Kripke. It is a spin-off from the popular show The Boys on Prime Video, which is adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic book series. The original series has been a big hit on Prime Video, earning numerous Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2021. In addition to Gen V, other spin-off projects based on The Boys include the web series Seven on 7 and the animated anthology series Diabolical.
Gen V's showrunners and executive producers, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, are new to The Boys franchise while Craig Rosenberg, The Boys producer, takes on the role of writer and producer for the R-rated spin-off. The series maintains continuity with The Boys by keeping Eric Kripke and Seth Rogen, among others, as executive producers, and retaining the same style. Additionally, Gen V will not shy away from the mature and risqué subject matter that made The Boys a hit.
Jaz Sinclair stars in the lead role of Marie Moreau, who has the power to manipulate blood and a tragic past. Chance Perdomo plays Andre Anderson, a fan-favourite character with the ability to bend metal. Lizzie Broadway portrays Emma Shaw, a YouTuber who can shrink down to a minuscule 0.5 inches. Maddie Phillips plays Cate Dunlap, who has the power of mind empathy. Derek Luh and London Thor star as Jordan, a character with gender-changing abilities, while Asa Germann and Shelley Conn round out the main cast.
The series' supporting cast includes Patrick Schwarzenegger playing Golden Boy, a popular student who can manipulate fire. Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity and Marco Pigossi as Doctor Edison Cardosa. Clancy Brown takes on the role of Richard "Rich Brink" Brinkerhoff while Jason Ritter and Alexander Calvert also star. Some familiar faces from The Boys, including Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, make appearances in Gen V.
