Colin Woodell stars as the owner of The Continental in prequel to John Wick film series
The Continental is an action-thriller miniseries developed by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward and Shawn Simmons for Peacock. It exclusively premiered on Amazon Prime Video in Canada. The series is written and led by Coolidge and Ward in their roles as showrunners. The Continental is a prequel series set in the world of John Wick that precedes the events of the first film. It comprises of three 90-minute episodes with the first and last one being helmed by Albert Hughes. Hughes' previous directing credits include Menace II Society and The Book of Eli. Outlander director Charlotte Brändström directed the second episode of the miniseries. The production team behind the John Wick franchise including lead star Keanu Reeves, director Chad Stahelski and creator Derek Kolstad, return as producers to maintain continuity with the film's universe. All three played various roles in the series' development ensuring that it lives up to the franchise's standards.
Colin Woodell portrays a younger version of Winston Scott, the lead character in The Continental, originally portrayed by Ian McShane in the films. Mel Gibson joins the franchise as Cormac, a new character. In the John Wick universe, when there is a mess to clean up, there is only one person to turn to – Uncle Charlie. He will be played by Peter Greene in his younger years, starting out alongside Winston. Katie McGrath also stars as The Adjudicator. Jessica Allain, Jeremy Bobb, Ayomide Adegun and Nhung Kate round out the cast.
