Creed II director helms sequel to the 2018 hit Bumblebee with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a sci-fi action film directed by Steven Caple Jr. for Paramount Pictures. It is the seventh live-action installment in the Transformers franchise and is a sequel to 2018’s Bumblebee. The film takes inspiration from the Transformers: Beast Wars storyline and is based on characters from Hasbro. The screenplay is written by Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber.
Caple Jr. has previously directed 2016’s The Land and 2018’s Creed II and was named one of Forbes’ “30 under 30” in Hollywood & Entertainment in 2017. Original Transformers director Michael Bay returns as producer on the film along with long-time franchise producers Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and first-time Transformers producer Duncan Henderson.
The film stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Vélez and Tobe Nwigwe making his film debut. There are a number of powerhouse voice talents in the film as well including Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh, Emmy Award winner Peter Dinklage and Ron Perlman. Pete Davidson, Liza Koshy, Cristo Fernández and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez also lend their voices to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts with original voice actors Peter Cullen, John DiMaggio and David Sobolov rounding out the cast.
