Academy Award winner Charlize Theron pairs with Jason Momoa to take on the Family in the tenth Fast entry
Fast X is an action film directed by Louis Leterrier for Universal Pictures. It is the tenth installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise which dates back to the original 2001 film starring Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker. The long-standing saga comes to a close in a two-part conclusion, with Fast X being the first of the two films. Diesel produces the film along with former director Justin Lin and long-time producer Neal H. Moritz who has produced every Fast movie in the franchise. Joining them in producing duties are Jeff Kirschenbaum and Samantha Vincent.
The screenplay is written by Lin, Zach Dean and Dan Mazeau. Lin was originally slated to direct Fast X following his previous success in directing five Fast films, however creative differences with the studio led to Leterrier replacing him.
Vin Diesel returns as the main figurehead of the series and head of the Family, Dominic Toretto. Other returning cast members include Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham and Cardi B. A number of new faces join the cast for Fast X including Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior, Academy Award winner Brie Larson and Alan Ritchson.
