Synopsis
Santa Claus is set for retirement. Scott Calvin, who has worn the red robes for as long as he can remember, is on the lookout for new candidates for the job. But while interviewing all of the potential new Santa Clauses, Scott also has to consider what his life would be like away from the North Pole. He isn’t alone though. The whole of the Calvin family is readying themselves for a change. His wife Carol, his two sons, and his one daughter are all preparing for a new life – a normal life. But who can fill the boots of the most-loved spirit of Christmas? It will take a special character, with a lot of magic, to keep Christmas as the holiday for the whole family.

The Santa Clauses Season 1 is a Christmas comedy series produced by Disney+. It is the fourth title in the franchise which includes three previous full-length movies dedicated to the adventures of Tim Allen’s Santa Claus. Leo Benvenuti and Steve Rudnick, who co-wrote the original The Santa Clause are back to write the script for the miniseries.
Tim Allen is also back to play Saint Nick with Mrs. Claus once again played by Elizabeth Mitchell. The pair are managing a trio of children played by Eric Lloyd, Austin Kane, and Elizabeth Allen-Dick. New to the franchise is Kal Penn who plays Simon Choksi, a mysterious visitor to the North Pole. Devin Bright and David Krumholtz play Santa’s right-hand elf, Noel, and his former right-hand elf, Bernard. Adding a sprinkling of Italian folklore to the mix, Laura San Giacomo plays Befana the Christmas Witch, while Peyton Manning of NFL fame puts in a guest cameo. The Santa Clauses was released on Disney+ on November 16, 2022.
