Synopsis

In the final days of the High Republic Era, the powers of the dark side are growing in the shadows

With the galaxy in a time of prosperity, the Sith are outnumbered and living at the margins. In this gilded-age, the Jedi rule over a peaceful galaxy and still it seems that something lurks in the corners. The Acolyte follows the story of an ardent devotee at a time when the dark side is an underground countercultural force. Leading up to the events that see the reemergence of the Sith, The Acolyte shows the beginning of that journey from obscurity to the central force that rules the galaxy. Reuniting a padwan with their Jedi master, the pair are put forward for an investigation into a series of crimes.

Does Yoda feature in The Acolyte?

Jedi Master Yoda is not confirmed to make an appearance in the show. He is however an important figure in the High Republic Era when the show is set. In this age, Jedi are scattered all over the galaxy so while Yoda may be alive in the course of the show, he could simply be far from the action.

What is the High Republic era in the Star Wars universe?

The Acolyte is the first live-action Star Wars project set in the High Republic era, a time when Jedi were prevalent across the galaxy. The Sith are yet to emerge and the Jedi are in a Golden Age of power and authority. This is symbolized by their white robes which are directly inspired from the High Republic books.

Will The Acolyte have a second season?

Creator Leslye Headland confirmed that in her initial pitch, she envisioned the show to be a multi-season series. Headland confirms that The Acolyte does not tie up every loose thread in Season 1. The possibility of a second season of The Acolyte however depends entirely on the success of the first season on Disney+.
