Synopsis
Week by week the mysteries are vanishing in a puff of smoke. Charlie Cale has an extraordinary talent for spotting a lie. As she drives the highways of the United States, she’s drawn to stop and see what unsolved riddles she can help with. Cale goes case by case in her reliable Plymouth Barracuda to meet a cast of curious characters, all of whom are tied up in their own many mysteries.

Poker Face Season 1 is a comedy mystery series. Created by director Rian Johnson who has become known for his work in the mystery genre, Poker Face Season 1 has a case-of-the-week format. Created for the Peacock streaming service, the show is executive produced by Rian Johnson and the lead of the show Natasha Lyonne. Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, who have a host of writing and producing credits to their name, are the showrunners. Rian Johnson, director of Brick, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and two Knives Out movies, writes and directs the first episode.
The cast is led by Natasha Lyonne who plays Charlie Cale, the detective who can always spot a lie. The show introduces new characters per episode and many will not be recurring. In her travels, she meets a whole variety of shady characters and the cast list includes some big-name acting talent. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Adrien Brody, Stephanie Tsu, Jameela Jamil, Ron Perlman, and Tim Blake Nelson are some of the key names in a wider expanded cast. Poker Face Season 1 was released on the Peacock streaming service on January 26, 2023.
