Percy Jackson is just a regular teenager who knows nothing about his true identity and destiny. He is a demigod caught in a battle between the gods. Percy must travel across the United States in search of Zeus’s missing lightning bolt if he has a chance to survive. With allies and enemies around him all the time, his journey is perilous and his path sees him face a host of mythical beings. But Percy is not alone. At Camp Half-Blood he finds a home and he’ll be taught by Chiron, an immortal centaur and famous trainer of heroes. Alongside friends Annabeth and Grover, Percy must take the first steps toward claiming his new identity. From the underworld of Hades to Mount Olympus with Zeus, Percy will face highs and lows in his mythic adventure to become who he was born to be.
"The famous Percy Jackson book series has been brought to life once again, this time as a series. It’s filled with action, adventure, and surprisingly great visual effects for a series, making it perfect for anyone looking to get sucked into an epic journey. If you loved the film adaptations or enjoyed movies like Immortals and Wrath of the Titans, then Disney+’s new show will be a must-watch. As a series, Percy Jackson and The Olympians is able to dive deeper into the story and characters than the film version was, so even if you think you’ve seen it before, you’ll love rewatching the story told through this new perspective."
"Percy Jackson and the Olympians is the faithful adaptation of the books readers have waited over a decade for. It recaptures the magic of the series, as well as adds additional context to Rick Riordan's original story. Viewers who loved recent fantasy book adaptations like Good Omens and American Born Chinese will be thrilled to have another similarly adventurous story with strong source material. Percy Jackson and the Olympians does justice to Riordan's work and is one fun and magical adventure for mythology and fantasy fans."

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a fantasy adventure television series produced for the streaming service Disney+. It is based on the young adult novels of Rick Riordan, who takes on the role of executive producer of the series and co-writer of the pilot. Riordan with screenwriting partner and co-showrunner Jonathan E. Steinberg, mapped out the first season together which will cover the whole of the first novel. This marks the second adaptation of Riordan’s books, the first of which he was not creatively involved in. Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters were critically and commercially underwhelming despite some fan support. On board to revive the exciting stories of the Percy Jackson novels are James Bobin, Anders Engstrom, and Jet Wilkinson. All three serve as separate directors for the eight-part season. The series uses Industrial Light & Magic’s StageCraft technology to create seamless and detailed visual effects.
The ensemble cast for the daring journey of the demigod is led by Walker Scobell playing Percy Jackson himself. After a standout performance in The Adam Project, the young actor is set for his first lead role. Joining him as trusted companions and close friends are Annabeth Chase played by Leah Sava Jeffries and Grover Underwood portrayed by Aryan Simhadri. Megan Mullally, known for her role in Will & Grace is playing the villain Alecto; one of three Furies that reports to the god of the underworld, Hades. Evening out the bad with a little good is Mr. D, Dionysus himself who is played by Jason Mantzoukas. Glynn Turman is Chiron the centaur, a renowned trainer of heroes who will mold the young demigod and prepare him for his destiny. Percy Jackson and the Olympians was released on Disney+ on December 20th, 2023.
