Adapted from Jeanette Winterson's acclaimed novel, this BAFTA-winning drama is the story of a young girl discovering her sexuality against a backdrop of religious fervour and small-town prejudice. Adopted at birth by a charismatic Evangelist, Jess grows up in 1960s northern England to find she is part of a larger plan.
