Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 1 is a sci-fi drama series. It is set within the MonsterVerse and is a direct sequel to the 2014 movie Godzilla. The show is created by Chris Black and Matt Fraction, with both taking on writing roles for Season 1. Other writers involved in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 1 include Andrew Colville, Karl Taro Greenfield, Mariko Tamaki, Amanda Overton, Milla Bell-Hart, and Al Letson. WandaVision director, Matt Shakman is a director on the series.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 1 stars Anna Sawai and Anders Holm as Cate and Bill Randa, siblings in search of answers about their father. John Goodman reprises his role as Randa from Kong: Skull Island. Kurt and Wyatt Russell both star as the older and younger versions of the character Lee Shaw. The rest of the cast includes Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, and Christopher Heyerdahl. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was released on 17th November 2023 on Apple TV+.
