Synopsis
The story of Benjamin Franklin’s time in France
In 8 years as the US ambassador to France, Benjamin Franklin was on an important diplomatic mission. Seeking the support of the French and evading the spies of the British, Franklin was a wily and effective diplomat. In the midst of fighting for independence from the British, he lobbied for the French to underwrite the new American democracy.

Season 1 is directed by Tim Van Patten who is known for working on shows such as Masters of the Air, Game of Thrones, and Boardwalk Empire. Franklin Season 1 is written by Kirk Ellis and Howard Korder.
Franklin Season 1 stars in the titular role of Founding Father of the United States Benjamin Franklin. Douglas is an Academy Award-winning actor who has starred in movies such as Ant-Man, The Game, and Wall Street. Noah Jupe stars as William Temple Franklin. Marc Curet plays the role of Monsieur Brillon. Ludivine Sagnie stars as Anne Louise Brillon de Jouy. Thibault de Montalembert plays Charles Gravier. Daniel Mays stars as Edward Bancroft. Assaad Bouab plays Pierre Beaumarchais. The cast also includes Eddie Marsan, Jeanne Balibar, Theodore Pellerin, and John Hollingworth. Franklin Season 1 was released on Apple TV+ on April 12, 2024.
