Synopsis
Tensions ramp up between humans and faes in Carnival Row season 2
Tensions have reached breaking point in the neo-Victorian fantasy city of Burgue, after the megalomaniacal Jonah became chancellor and confined the city’s population of mythical creatures to a ghetto. Season 2 dives back into the faes’ struggle, and Philo and Vignette must solve a new murder while helping the mythical population fight for freedom.

Carnival Row Season 2 is the second and final season in the gritty neo-Victorian mystery series created by Travis Beacham and produced by Amazon Studios. The show takes place in the fantasy city of Burgue, where mythical creatures like faeries and fauns face oppression by humans after arriving as refugees to escape war in their homeland.
Carnival Row follows the story of police inspector Rycroft “Philo” Philostrate (Orlando Bloom) and his fae ex-lover, Vignette Stonemoss (Cara Delevingne), as they solve a string of gruesome murders terrorizing the fae population. In season 2, the tensions of the migration crisis continue to reach boiling point, resulting in a crushing power struggle between humans and mythical creatures. The second season explores the fae-human conflict, as the mythical creatures fight for basic rights and seek to take down the wicked new chancellor, Jonah.
The cast returning to Carnival Row in season 2 includes David Gyasi as Agreus Astrayon, Simon McBurney as Runyan Millworthy, and Tamzin Merchant as Imogen Spurnrose, and Arty Froushan as the main villain, Jonah Breakspear.
