When oilman Paul Sturges brings his family to Baja, Mexico for a relaxing vacation, they find themselves relentlessly pursued by a vengeful megalodon shark. Stranded on a decaying oil rig and under constant attack, Paul and his family must find a way to destroy the shark before it takes down the rig with everyone on it.
The Black Demon is a shark survival action-thriller film produced by Mucho Mas Media, Silk Mass, the Highland Film Group, and The Avenue. The film is directed by Adrian Grünberg, who previously helmed Rambo: Last Blood and Get the Gringo, and worked alongside Mel Gibson on Apocalypto. The screenplay is written by Boise Esquerra and is based on a story by Carlos Cisco. The film is based around the legend of El Demonio Negro (‘The Black Demon’), an enormous, ruthless midnight black shark that hunts off the coast of the Mexican Baja peninsula.
The cast of the Black Demon is made up of Josh Lucas as Paul Sturges, an oilman and the father of the family. He is joined by Fernanda Urrejola as Paul’s wife, Ines Sturges, and Venus Ariel and Carlos Solórzano as their children, Audrey and Tommy. The rest of the cast includes Julio Cedillo, Héctor Jiménez, Raúl Méndez, Jorge A. Jimenez, Edgar Flores, Omar Patin, Arturo Duvergé, and Luis del Valle.
